Swami Sachchidananda Vishuddha Dev
|
He was born in an ideal Brahmin family in the beautiful town of Kashmir in
India. He completed his secondary education in Kashmir and joined the Delhi
University in order to continue his higher education. First of all, he received
his Master of Science degree in Physics, then he got his M. A. in Political
Science and finally, after his M. A. in Philosophy he studied psychology very
deeply. He was then admitted into the Veda Institution at the Rajauri Gardens
in Delhi and studied the Vedas, Vedantas, Scriptures, the mythologies, yoga and
Ayurveda. He then received the order of asceticism (sannyasa) from the supreme
teacher Swami Vidyananda Videha and obtained special knowledge in Kailash
Ashram in Haridwar. Subsequently, he spent his days in the Himalayan caves and
attained self-realization and purity. Thus, he emerged as Swami Sachchidananda
Vishuddha Dev.
He entered into Nepal in 1982 after giving his spiritual education to Europeans,
Americans and others besides Indians. He lived at Beljhundi in Dang
(West Nepal) for about two years, giving lectures before coming to Kathmandu
in 1985. In Kathmandu he stayed in the Geeta Temple at Swayambhu for some
time, launching a campaign of a series of spiritual instructions.
He continued his campaign of maintaining physical fitness through the medium of
yoga postures, mental balance and harmony with the techniques of breath control
and self-awakening through medium of meditation.
He chose Nepal, this land of divine practice, as his centre of activities,
living in the Hansada Yoga Ashram for Character Building and was active in his
great campaign of character building day in and day out. Many young devotees
have opted to dedicate their lives to him in this act of character building.
Various national and international associations and persons felicitated him.
The campaign launched by the swami, who was active in encouraging and inspiring
modern human society suffering from negative activities toward a positive
direction, is the demand of the twenty first century.
